How to Fix Link Issues in a Published Article

This article covers what counts as a valid link placement on Bazoom and how we handle cases where the link does not comply.

Overview: Why Link Accuracy Matters

Link accuracy is crucial for maintaining the SEO value of your content, adhering to client contractual obligations, and complying with Bazoom's dofollow policy. Incorrect links can negatively impact SEO performance and client satisfaction, making it imperative to address these issues promptly. By ensuring link accuracy, you maintain high service standards and foster trust with clients.

Link Attribute Requirements

Unless otherwise agreed upon, we do not accept links containing the following attributes:

  • rel='nofollow' attributes
  • Missing href attributes
  • Incorrect URLs
  • sponsored or ugc attributes

Common Issue Types with Definitions

  • Nofollow Link (Should Be Dofollow): A nofollow link tells search engines not to follow the link, whereas a dofollow link allows it. This affects the link's ability to pass SEO value.
  • Missing Anchor Text: Anchor text is the clickable text in a hyperlink. It is crucial for contextual relevance and SEO.
  • Missing or Incorrect Target URL: Ensuring the correct URL is vital for link integrity and directing traffic to the intended destination.
  • Unwanted 'Sponsored' or 'Nofollow Sponsored' Label: These labels indicate paid content and should only be used with client consent.

Link Compliance and Resolution

If these requirements are not met, we will reach out to the supplier to request a correction. If the link cannot be updated to the required standard, we will work with the supplier to explore the following options:

  • A full refund for the affected placement.

  • An alternative placement on a site approved by the client.
