Can I modify a article already published?

This article explains the process for requesting changes to a published article - what to include, what to expect, and what may get in the way.

Modifying an already published article can sometimes be challenging, but we always do our best to accommodate our clients’ requests. This article explains how to request changes to an already published article.

Corrections to Published Articles

Correcting live articles is not ideal, but it can happen. Bazoom acknowledges that mistakes may be made, clients may change their minds, and publishers or media partners may not always be able to accommodate changes. After that is all said, then Bazoom may ask the publisher or media partner whether an update can be made.

What to Do If You Spot an Error After Publication

What to Include in Your Correction Request

Steps To Request A Correction

  1. Email publications@bazoom.com.

  2. Include the live URL of the published article.

  3. Include the Order ID or Order Link ID.

  4. Describe exactly what needs to be corrected.

  5. Add screenshots if they help clarify the issue.

Understanding Order Specifications

Before making any modifications, it is essential to understand the order specifications thoroughly. Common issues include link limits, anchor text mismatches, and format or language requirements. Adhering to publisher restrictions and requirements helps avoid delays and supports successful publication.

  • Link Limits: Some media outlets may accept fewer links than initially ordered. For example, if a media outlet accepts only one link when multiple were requested, you must prioritize which link to keep. This is a common question in support tickets, where users ask which link to proceed with.
  • Format and Language Requirements: Articles must meet specific format and language criteria set by the media outlet to be approved.

Common Reasons Changes May Get Blocked

  • Link limits. Some publishers accept fewer links than ordered. If this happens, you must choose which link stays.

  • Anchor text mismatches. Anchor text may need to be adjusted to match publisher guidelines.

  • Format and language requirements. Articles may be rejected if they do not match the publisher’s required format or language.

Response Time Expectation

Requests for post-publication corrections are typically forwarded to the media partner promptly. In many cases, this is handled quickly, but there are no guarantees. In some cases, the publisher may require an edit fee.

Conclusion

Maintaining the quality and accuracy of your content is essential. If you need help correcting an article after publication, contact publications@bazoom.com.
